The profiles
In the explanatory booklet of the game, there are many profiles of the classics and the profiles of the three major tours (TDF, Giro, Vuelta).
These profiles, adapted for the game, allow the players to see the possibilities of attack foreseen according to the difficulties (pass, sprint, etc...).
With the same profile, a race is never the same regardless of the protagonists around the game board. It is therefore fun to redo a race with the same profile because the result will be different. However, in order to stick to reality, new Magnytour profiles are published every year according to the real stages of the grand tours, the stage races and the classics whose course changes.
Based on the official profiles published by the race organisers on the official website referred to as the source, Magnytour develops profiles completed by a table of possible attacks for team riders or rouleurs (blue), climbers (red) or sprinters (green) in order to reflect the real race circumstances.
Each year, the profiles of the 3 major tours (TDF, Giro and Vuelta) change and are adapted to the new route with +/- 10 stages extracted from the real route in order to be able to do the Magnytour in one day.
New profiles are regularly created according to the new events. They are not deleted if the event is no longer run.
Some profiles may change from one year to the next. We try, as far as possible, to redo or modify the profile according to the profiles of the actual race.
The stage races are either limited in the number of stages (3 in general) or with real stages (5, 6, 7, 8 stages).
Magnytour is the only cycling board game that continues with the constant addition of new race profiles.
On request, we can provide you with a cycling event adapted to Magnytour, as long as we have the possibility to obtain the profiles of the events concerned, for example the famous 1969 tour that we are publishing on the 50th anniversary of Eddy Merckx's first victory and the 100th anniversary of the yellow jersey in 22 stages.
